Demolition derby is a motorsport usually presented at county fairs and festivals. While rules and builds vary from event to event, the typical demolition derby event consists of four or more drivers competing by deliberately ramming their vehicles into one another. The last car to make a hit wins. We call it, "Adult Bumper Cars!"
basic rules are that you need to build according to the speculations given by the event organizers in order to pass inspection. During the event, drivers are allowed 60-120 seconds to make a hit on another driver. If you don't, you pull your flag and you're out. You are not allowed to hit the driver's door, which is considered seam to seam. The last car standing and to make a hit is the winner.
There are a lot of precautions taken to ensure that driver's stay safe. Usually most events require some type of seat belt, full face helmet, fully welded doors, all airbags disabled and taken out of the car, and a roll cage. It is rare to see injuries during the sport.

We ask that the school follows the build rules, build schedule, and allows mentors from our team to come in the classroom. The students are required to sign a code of conduct and have parents sign liability waivers. There is some time commitment over the summer for the derby.
The prizes include cash prizes that go directly back into the classrooms. There are also custom made trophies and other participation prizes awarded!
