Demolition derby is a motorsport usually presented at county fairs and festivals. While rules and builds vary from event to event, the typical demolition derby event consists of four or more drivers competing by deliberately ramming their vehicles into one another. The last car to make a hit wins. We call it, "Adult Bumper Cars!"
basic rules are that you need to build according to the speculations given by the event organizers in order to pass inspection. During the event, drivers are allowed 60-120 seconds to make a hit on another driver. If you don't, you pull your flag and you're out. You are not allowed to hit the driver's door, which is considered seam to seam. The last car standing and to make a hit is the winner.
There are a lot of precautions taken to ensure that driver's stay safe. Usually most events require some type of seat belt, full face helmet, fully welded doors, all airbags disabled and taken out of the car, and a roll cage. It is rare to see injuries during the sport.
Safety is priority! All drivers are required to be 18 and graduated at the time of the derby. We require a fully welded roll cage, full racing helmet, neck brace, 4 or 5 point harness, and foam padding on metal surrounding the driver.
Wrecked Neck Racing Mentorship Program is a business and racing team that is catered toward high school trade programs. We donate a car to your school, send mentors to teach you the building process, and then we facilitate a heat at the end of the year that allows classes and schools to go up against each other to smash their projects!

We ask that the school follows the build rules, build schedule, and allows mentors from our team to come in the classroom. The students are required to sign a code of conduct and have parents sign liability waivers. There is some time commitment over the summer for the derby.
The prizes include cash prizes that go directly back into the classrooms. There are also custom made trophies and other participation prizes awarded!
We knew were destined for something bigger and better in life but just didn't know what. This all started as an idea to just help one classroom and spiraled into 5. It developed into a program over 2022 and something we truly became invested in. We enjoy being around the students, teachers, and parents, and sharing our passion with them. We have the coolest jobs!
We are out of Santaquin, Utah, and hope to serve Utah statewide. If you are from outside of Utah, please get in touch with us.
